Error 3265 or errors like it on SQL connected version of the client

This error, or others like it, may occur when a successful SQL ODBC connection has been established, but there are problems with the Local Client Database which uses the Jet Engine on the local computer. (This will show as an error on only one or a few computers where the rest are working fine.)

This error has the same causes as in: TROUBLE SHOOT: Errors such as Error 91, 3265, 3078 and others on only one or a few of the computers running MonTel.

To prevent these errors:

  • Make sure that no MonTel application or DLL is running on the local computer. (And unload any other programs using the Jet Database).
  • Un-install the MonTel Client from the Control panel using Add-Remove programs.
  • Delete the Local Client Database (usually found below the C:\MONTEL folder).
  • Delete the MONTEL.INI file in the Windows directory, which is most likely to be either C:\WINDOWS or C:\WINNT.
  • Re-boot the computer.
  • Re-install the MonTel Client.

More information about this issue and others can be found at TROUBLE SHOOT: Various errors and problems connecting to the client database that occur on only one users computer.
