MonTel ServerSV Windows NT Service and questions about Non SQL MonTel sites...

The questions.

How many if any Non SQL or MSDE Database sites do you have?

Do you have plans to updated them to the SQL/MSDE version of MonTel (for the 20 times faster updates and increased reliability of SQL)?

*************************

MonTel Server Service for Win2K (et al).

I have now updated the serversv.zip on the web site (http://www.netwiz.com.au/customer.html -> http://www.netwiz.com.au/secure/montel32_v2_9.html).

1. The following command line options have been added: QUERY, MANUAL,AUTO and

DISBALE.

Usage for Installation:

serversv.exe [Options]

Options:

INSTALL [Password] Install this service using the supplied password.

The login name is specified in the PABX.INI file.

REMOVE Remove or delete this service.

START Start the service after installation.

STOP To Stop this running service.

INTERROGATE To return the current status.

QUERY Returns the SCM settings.

CONSOLE Run as a console application.

AUTO Start the service when the computer starts.

MANUAL Start the service manually only.

DISABLED Disable the service (MANUAL to re-enable).

HELP This information.

(Note: There are no command line switches)

2. The description field is now included in the SCM (Services applet), though I don't know if this will break on an NT 4.0 machine.

3. Messages and status displays have been tidied up and expanded at bit: Try: serversv query

4. A bug with an extra line feed character in unc path names has been fixed.

5. If you do include a command line switch (say '-') it will print as message to say they are not used and then display the help screen (above).

See my previous e-mail for install instructions.

Thanks to Dave Moyle in Melbourne for some of the above. He now has it working at the office there with no apparent problems (with the service - we are looking at a TZ issue with the client!).
