MONTEL 2.10.18

This Netwiz MonTel Technical Support Note has been sent to announce that MonTel 2.10.18 full release is up on the web site. MonTel Version 2.10.x is now being used on the majority of sites. Please note that Version 2.9.x is no longer available for download. If upgrading from 2.9 to 2.10 please upgrade to SQL from the Jet database, BEFORE upgrading to 2.10 to be able to recover data from the jet database.

The important news features for 2.10.18 are:

- Each "central" or "core" application such as ServerSV or ServerCN now has its own log file based on the application name, rather than sharing PABXERR.LOG, and that the messages recorded in that file can be selected from an LogMessageLevel setting.

- The MonTel Server can now use a TAPI interface to collect data from a PABX. Currently only the Cisco Call MAnager system is supported, but this is likely to be expanded in the future.

For the other changes and fixes and more detail see Version 2.10.x: Changes, fixes and new features at http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i3342.htm .

You can download this version from the usual place at http://www.netwiz.com.au/secure/montel32_v2_10.html .

MONTEL 2.11.2 ALPHA

While 2.11.2 is designated as an alpha version, that is, not yet feature complete; the code base itself seems to be reasonable stable despite using a different compiler from 2.10.x. After testing you may deicide that it is stable enough to use in a production environment so you are able to use the new features.

The exciting new addition to 2.11.2 (that is not in 2.10.x) is a windows service version of Monex called MonexSv. In the past Monex was thought of as part of the client side of MonTel because it operated with the Master Client database. Now because it is a (or can be) a server service, it is considered to be part of the "core" or server side of the system. It is installed and operated (and looks like) the MonTel Server, though it still uses the same settings as Monex32 does in the PABX.INI file. Because MonexSv cannot be called from a batch file (if in Service mode) there are additional settings provided to force exporting at certain times and frequencies: See AutoExportTime, AutoExportFrequency and AutoExportRoundFrequency in the PABX.INI Reference at http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i2129.htm .

For Version 2.11.x: Changes, fixes and new features see http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i245.htm .
