2003-04-01 Netwiz Beta Testers

Some MonTel update info.

I think I have got to the bottom of the issue with the serial port lock up that I was experiencing with ServerCN (after a lot of use). Plus I have also fixed the screen saver problem I observed on Windows 95 (presumably 98 as well).

The latest (build 198.1) is available in ServerCN.zip on the web site under customer downloads. (marked as version 2.9.57). Try out the new internal restart feature (new from 2.9.56). see http://www.netwiz.com.au/secure/montel32_v2_9.html from http://www.netwiz.com.au/customer.html .

If you guys are confident that this build is as stable as Server.exe (which I think it is) then I will include ServerCN in the next distribution. Let me know please.

The next distribution is 2.9.58 which fixes a major oversight that left out the ability of Matter only systems to search for phone numbers linked to matter codes, and didn't have the phone number for this matter button on the matter form (which was present on the client form).

Also, note that I have changed the look and feel of EdIni32 (et al) to allow keyboard only use, and a more sensible check box for boolean values. See http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i3135.htm.

A test version is available in alpha.zip from the web site (marked as version 2.9.58).

Once ServerCN is in the main distribution, I will recommend this as the preferred solution for Win95, Win98, WinME, WinXT, Win2000 and WinXP MonTel Servers. (It obviously won't run under DOS). I will then look at a 32bit DOS Solution, so we can grow features.

Note that ServerSV (the service version of the above) will only run under WinXT, Win2000 (and WinXP pro???). I have only tested it on Win2000 Pro and Server. The Service version seems to be as stable as the console version (it uses the almost the same code).
