How to remove spurious and much older MonTel32 Client installs from "Add/Remove Programs".

This topic applies to MonTel Client Version 2.3 beta and earlier only. The need to remove spurious entries was fixed with the release of Version 2.4 beta.

Open or run REGEDIT from the start menu (command line).

  • Drill down through the registry to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
  • Open any key that starts with ST6UNST

    For example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ST6UNST #1

Open the Value ApplicationName, and check that the name has MONTEL in it somewhere: the most likely occurrence is "MonTelv6.exe". It is most likely that it will have MonTel in it. If it doesn't then this is part of some other programs installation and should not be deleted.

  • Then delete the whole key.
  • Repeat until all required entries are deleted.

Now open C:\Program Files\MonTel32 in explorer.

  • Delete all files named ST6UNST.

    (For example ST6UNST.000.)

The spurious entries should now be cleaned from your Add/remove programs folder.
